In 1989, Richard Blunt set up a company restoring properties in Melbourne in Derbyshire and Ashby in Leicestershire. Richard enjoys a challenge and the focus of his business has shifted gradually towards the restoration of listed buildings. Richard has won the prestigious Georgian Group "Best Restoration of a Georgian Building in the U.K." on 2 occasions and was recently quoted as "Britain's trustiest restorer of listed buildings".

He also serves as a District Councillor in North West Leicestershire District Council and is presently Leader of the Council.
